I have been asked this questions so many times. Parents have come to me stating they’d love to get their youngster started, but are just unsure if their child is too young.
Back in 2014 I had the honor of taking over a young student. She was 5 years old and had already been taking lessons for the past year! She was such a delight, and it was amazing to teach her and watch her grow.
Currently (2019) I have taken on my youngest student! He is three years old and I look forward to teaching him each and every week. This now brings me to answer the question about at what age would it be appropriate to start? If your child is able to listen to some degree and shows an interest in music, please get them in as soon as possible!
When looking for a teacher make sure you find someone that is kind, gentle, able to redirect and most importantly – wanting to teach your precious child!
